Every year Google conducts the Doodle For Google Contest for students in grades K-12. Students are invited to create their own Google Doodle for the chance to have it featured on Google.com, as well as win some great scholarships and tech packages for their schools. The entry period is from January to March each year.

Doodles will be judged on the following parameters:
- Artistic merit: Based on artistic skill.
- Creativity: Representation of the contest theme, use of the letters in the Google logo, and the unique approach to the Doodle.
- Theme communication: How well the contest theme is expressed in both the artwork and the written statement.
