Every year NASA Langley Research Center conducts the NASA Langley Student Art Contest, which is ideal for students interested in art, science, technology and space exploration. This contest invites students in Grades K-12 to create art based on a space and technology-related theme which changes each year. This contest runs from Dec 1st to Dec 31st. A grand prize winner as well as first, second, and third runner-ups will be selected from each grade level.
Grades K-6 students in Sinnott can participate in this free art contest. The 2024 contest theme is "Connecting the Dots" and encourages students to recognize the relationship between art, science and technology that exists all around them. Art can represent the following mediums: drawing and painting (i.e., pencil, charcoal, pastels, colored pencils, oil paints, acrylics, water media, mixed media/collage) and original digital creations (which may not include AI or digital image generation of any kind).
