Future City Competition
Future City Competition is a team-based challenge for Grade 6 students.
This year’s challenge asks students build a floating city and provide two innovative examples of how your floating city works and keeps its citizens healthy and safe.

Rubber Band Contest for Young Inventors
Free contest for Grades 5-6.
Design and create a working invention/artwork that incorporates at least one rubber band.

3M Young Scientist Challenge
Free contest for Grades 5-6.
The entry period is from January to May.
Students apply for this competition by submitting a 1-2 minute video describing a unique solution to an everyday problem for the chance to win $25,000, an exclusive 3M mentorship and the title of “America’s Top Young Scientist”.
Ten finalists, up to 51 state merit winners, and four honorable mentions will be chosen for their passion for science, spirit of innovation and ingenuity, and effective communication skills.

Free video contest for Grades 3 - 6.
Students can participate individually or in groups of any size.

Elementary (Grades 3 - 5)
Middle School (Grade 6 - 8)
Animation/Stop-Motion (Grade 6 - Age 25)
The film should talk about an environmental/sustainability problem and then discuss what could be a potential solution to this problem.
Entry must focus on one or several of the following topics
Climate
Energy
Food
Transportation
Waste
Water
Wildlife and Ecosystems
